As a matter of fact I will be sharing with you detailed information needed before and after rejecting or accepting admission offer on Jamb Portal.

What is the full meaning of JAMB?

The Joint Admission Matriculation Board abbreviated as JAMB is an examination body which regulates the entry of students into the institution of higher learning. Nigeria uses this as a way of testing the Intelligent Quotient of her students before granting them access into her schools.

The process involved for entry of students into institution of higher learning, is as follows; firstly the body will announce its commencement and closing date for registration, during this time forms will be out for sale only on authorized outlets, Epins will be now available for sale, any who registers one for Jamb must be an agent registered with JAMB as fake persons use the process to make gain, which has made many frustrated. The conduct of examination comes next, this is been executed on accredited Computer Based Test centers known as CBT centers, a range of time is been given for this, usually two weeks, candidates are given specific time to come for their examinations as they sit periodically for the exam. 

Thirdly is the release of result, this is usually three days after the examination date, which is to say one should expect result after sitting for JAMB three days after the day of the examination. Finally Comes the admission of students into the desired school of their choice, this is when the body begins admitting students.

How to check your admission status

Before we take a look at accepting or rejecting admission offer, it is very important one knows how to check admission status. Creating a Jamb profile is the first thing to do in other to check your admission status.  How can this be done? It is simple, first create a Gmail, send the email address to “55019”be informed you must have at least N50 on your line to enable this service, you will receive a notification to check your email for your password. Afterwards, follow the steps enumerated below to access your admission status.

• On your web browser log onto https://www.jamb.efacility.org/
• Input your email and password in the right spaces
• Click on any action button or press enter on your keyboard
• Select your examination year
• Click on “Admission status” if admitted you will see a pop notification which says “Congratulations ……. has been admission into ……………. to study ……….” If not admitted you will something like “Sorry not admitted yet” If admission has started processing you will see something like “Admission in Progress”

How to Accept or Reject Admission offer on JAMB CAPS

Now Accepting or Rejecting the admission offer isn’t far from there, I am going to show to different ways to do this, which is with your phone or on PC.

1. On PC , close the admission status window 
2. Click on “Access CAPs”
3. This opens another window with the heading “If you have been given admission kindly accept or reject the admission offer” below it are two tabs
4. Click either on “Accept” or “Reject” to accept or reject the admission offer
5. This will then displays a message which says “Congratulations you have accepted or rejected the admission offer” I am writing this way depending on choice.

On a smart phone, after completing the processes stated on how to check admission status, at the top left you will see a three dash tab.

1. Click on the tab
2. This display a drop down menu
3. Click on “Admission” thereafter complete the processes stated above after this point.

Note: If JAMB offers something different from what you choosed ,  you can do a “Change of course at the portal” then if you have successfully accepted the admission offer then print your “Admission Letter” as this will serve as evidence of admission.
